Wellington, New Zealand CNN —In a closely-fought battle and rematch of the 2019 World Cup final, the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) and the Netherlands – two of the world’s top teams – came to a 1-1 draw on Thursday at the 2023 Women’s World Cup. It was the first time the USWNT trailed in a Women’s World Cup match since 2011 in the quarterfinal against Brazil. The Netherlands, meanwhile, was hungry for revenge after their 2-0 loss to the US in the 2019 World Cup.
